Astcote Methodist Church

The congregation at Astcote is small but active in the community.At Pattishall School, John Atkin, Local Preacher, and Minister, Rev Ian Forsyth lead Collective Worship on a regular basis.

Every Monday afternoon 2-4pm, we run a Crafternoon group in the kitchen, where conversation and crafting – knitting, crochet, embroidery etc. – continue over cups of tea.

On the second Tuesday of the month there is Lunch Club for the retired in the parish.  Home cooked food is enjoyed and is a great way to socialise and make new friends.

Each Wednesday morning from 9-11am in Term Time there is a Tots group at the Chapel where parents/grandparents/carers are welcome to come for coffee/tea/toast, craft activities and toys at no charge.

The first Thursday of the month hosts The Well Group.  An ecumenical ladies’ group which meets for a jacket potato lunch followed by a Speaker on a Christian theme.

Bible Study/Reflection evenings are held from time to time on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm

Our building is available for hire with comfortable seating for 50 downstairs, a well-equipped kitchen and an upstairs room for smaller meeting.  Downstairs is disabled friendly, and with a stairlift to be fitted soon, the upstairs room can also be used by less able folk.  An internet connection is available.

‘Sharing God’s Love with All’

and on Sundays we join together for Christian worship at 10.30am with a Family Service ‘in the round’ on the 3rd Sundays, and a Scones of Praise Service at 3pm on the last Sunday of the month.  On the first Sunday of the month, we hold ’Prayer for the Community’ from 9.30-10am when we pray for those known to us in the Parish who have been bereaved, are ill or have a particular need.  Prayer requests can be put in the Prayer Box outside the Chapel.
