Pattishall Charities
Pattishall Parish has several general charities that support parishioners in need and younger members of the community, with support for their education or apprenticeships.
Pattishall Parochial Charities
(Charity number 204106)
The charity provides a monthly pension for widows and widowers in the parish of Pattishall, as well as a Christmas fuel grant for parishioners of pensionable age. Other grants are awarded in cases of specific need, regardless of age.
Monthly pension – Applicants are requested to write to the Clerk, providing details of their age, marital status, and how long they have lived in the parish. If the maximum number of pensions has been reached, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
Christmas fuel grant – New applications are considered annually. Information about the November closing date for new applications will be published in Around Pattishall.
The trustees will also consider providing financial support towards other specific, one-off requirements within the community that are not age dependent as required. Individuals may apply for a grant, and members of the parish are invited to suggest names of people who would benefit from one to the Clerk.
Applications should be addressed to:

Waites Educational Charity
(Charity number 309773)
The Waites Educational Charity was originally formed to provide tools and equipment. These were for those taking on apprenticeships. However, its scope has since been broadened to include those going into further and higher education.
Any young person living in Pattishall Parish who is following a full-time or part-time higher education course may apply. This includes university and college courses, as well as industrial and commercial training courses, apprenticeships and placements. Grants are available to cover the cost of books, equipment, etc. Grants will not be awarded to students taking A-Level courses or equivalents. Students receiving grants must provide evidence of course attendance, such as a student registration number, as well as receipts for any expenses claimed.
Each year, the Charity Clerk will advertise in Around Pattishall and announce the closing date for applications for the academic year. A copy of the Application Form should be completed together with a brief letter to support the application. Both must be signed by the applicant and returned to the address below.
